What we do, and don't do, with your data.
We never sell your data
Your household data is yours. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers. Ever.
What we store
Only what you put in: your garments, food, recipes, expenses, chores and the preferences you set. It lives in your account and is used to make the app work for you.
AI actions send data to a third party
Some features use an AI model we do not run ourselves. When you scan a receipt, autofill a food or clothing photo, paste in a recipe, or ask for meal ideas, the photo or text for that action (and, for suggestions based on what you have, the names of your food items) is sent to our AI provider, OpenAI, L.L.C., and processed on its servers in the United States. We use it only to turn what you sent into structured entries in your account. We do not send your name, your email or your account ID with it. OpenAI states that data sent through its API is not used to train its models, and that it keeps a copy for up to 30 days to detect abuse before deleting it. If we change provider, we will name the new one here. If you never use AI actions, nothing is sent.
You're in control
You can export everything we hold at any time, and delete your account from Settings, which permanently removes all of your data.
Sharing
We don't share your data with third parties except where strictly required to run the service (hosting, and the AI provider described below) or by law. No advertising, no profiling.
The mobile app
The LiCon app for Android and iOS keeps your session in the device's secure storage and collects nothing the web app doesn't. If you allow notifications, the app registers a push token (an identifier for that install, not for you) so we can deliver reminders; it is removed when you sign out or delete your account. Biometric unlock happens entirely on your device: we only learn whether it succeeded, never your fingerprint or face. Photos you take or share for receipt, food or garment scanning travel through our servers straight to the AI provider described above and are not kept by LiCon: they are never written to our database or storage. Everything you enter can be exported or permanently deleted from the app's Settings, exactly as on the web.
